League game before our practice at Two Harbors CC. Ice speed was around 23-23.5 when we played but 25 at end of league game. Very straight drawing in.

Beautiful sunny day

I'm watching the "North Country" (Duluth and up along Lake Superior) NBC station and got two pieces of slightly horrifying info: 1. it's going to be in the teens - low 20's till I leave, and 2. this station is owned by... Granite Broadcasting! (The company that used to own my station before NBC took it over.)

Tonight at about 7 is our practice, then Thurs @ 11 is our first game.

Still day on the lake this morning. My teammate and roommate arrive at 1.

The hot tub connects to another one outside. Gotta find out if they ever open it!

The guy standing in the rings is '06 Olympian, Joe Polo. His clubmates, Jason Smith (Juniors Champ) and John Shuster ('06 Olympics), were wonderful hosts to me.

Tobie's in Hinckley was recommended to me by a worker at MSP. Excellent food - and a big bakery. Their specialty is a carmel roll - like a cinnabon, except smothered in caramel. It looked fabulous, but too sweet even for me.

I'm in Hinckley- halfway to Duluth.

About 80 miles from Duluth. I'm heading there tonight to try to practice or, better yet, play in a league.

Don't know if you can see it in the pix, but the road is 35 east and you take it north or south.
